What is coliving?

Coliving is a unique and contemporary way of living, that combines the comfort and convenience of a hotel, with the community and connection of a shared living space.

A coliving typically attract digital nomads, remote workers and location-independent freelancers. Looking for relaxed community life, during Portugal’s mild winter or endless sunny days of summer.

Our coliving guests have full access to a range of shared spaces. Including a spacious living room, well-equipped kitchen, coworking space, yoga room and a beautiful garden with pool and valley views.

Prices also include high-speed internet, weekly cleaning and heating in winter (with responsible use).

Daily life at Barefoot goes way beyond sharing common areas with other random guests. Our ever-evolving community attracts individuals from all over the world, typically freelancers, remote workers, surfers, yogis and nature enthusiasts who are open-minded, respectful and kind. We value creativity, personal growth, and meaningful connections.

Whether it’s a yoga session in the garden or a jam session at the fire, we encourage everyone to be a part of the daily communal experience. That said, we also understand when colivers retreat for some alone time in the privacy of their spaces.

Ana creates a moment of physical, emotional, and mental care with a massage tailored for you, combining techniques like Abhyanga, Chinese, Thai, Deep Tissue, Lomilomi, and Balinese.

Pottery

Get your hands dirty and let Gaëlle or Tialie teach you how to make your own tableware. Maybe it sounds a bit dusty, but I can assure you this is FUN (and quite difficult 😉

They provided excellent communication and always made sure that I had the support I needed, whether that was helping arrange transport or offering recommendations for local events. The location is beautiful and only a short walk away from the beach. Everyone in the house was very friendly and kind, which made my experience even better. We planned to stay one month at Barefoot in March but as soon as we arrived we knew, it's a place where you wanna stay longer, so we extended rightaway. 🙂 The rooms are beautiful, spacious with a warm design. The garden and the view into the lush valley are absolutly amazing and I loved to sit outside, hearing the birds chirp. You have the chance to meet many like-minded people but there's also enough space if you want some time to yourselve. We loved our stay so much, that we already booked our next stay - so see you soon! 🙂

The accommodation itself was fantastic, featuring a pool and a coworking space—perfect for a workation. The common areas are very cosy and equipped with literally everything you might need (loved the leaf tea selection 😍). The kind of people who stay at the coliving are also amazing! Very open minded, friendly and inspiring. Location is great: 30 min drive from Lisbon airport (taxi is really cheap), you’re surrounded by nature which makes your stay serene and peaceful. I can’t wait to come back!!

Our rooms are furnished with a subtle mix of classic luxury and a homy warm atmosphere. Each room has it’s own touch, all inspired by natural colors and materials. Large windows bring natural light into every room, most of them with beautiful views of the Ribeira Valley.
